This notice explains cookies, similar website technologies, and the privacy choices relevant to using offthegrid-la.com. Read it with the OffTheGrid LA Privacy Policy, which describes personal information handling, purchase information, communications, and privacy requests. The descriptions below explain how different types of technology work and the purposes for which they can be used. They do not mean that every category or feature described is active on this website. This notice does not identify any particular analytics or advertising provider as installed. A link to an outside website is also different from a service embedded in a page: an embedded service can receive information when it loads, while an ordinary link takes you to another website when you follow it.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small record stored by a browser for a website or service. It can contain an identifier or a setting that is returned during later requests. Some cookies last for a browsing session, while others remain until they expire or are removed. A first-party cookie relates to the website you are visiting; third-party technologies can involve a different service provider. The source of a cookie and its purpose are separate questions: a first-party cookie is not automatically essential or exempt from privacy requirements.

Other technologies can perform similar functions. Browser local storage can retain information on a device. A pixel or web beacon can report that content has loaded. A script can read available device or interaction information and send it to a service. Server logs can record requests without relying on a stored cookie. Removing cookies therefore does not necessarily remove every form of technical record or prevent every transfer of information.

3. Information associated with website technologies

Depending on the feature used and the service involved, technical information can include an IP address, browser and device characteristics, requested page, referring page, timestamp, session identifier, selected preference, or error report. Information may also relate to an interaction, such as opening a page or completing a step in a purchase flow. Technical identifiers can be personal information when they identify or can reasonably be linked to an individual or device.

You should not place complete card details, passwords, or sensitive identity information into an ordinary website message. Questions about a technical problem can usually start with the page address, approximate time, browser type, and a short explanation. If you provide a screenshot, remove ticket admission codes and unnecessary personal information first.

4. Functional categories

Necessary functions can include maintaining a requested session, protecting a form from abuse, authenticating a user where an account is offered, or supporting a transaction the visitor has chosen to make. Whether a technology is genuinely necessary depends on its actual purpose and operation. A business benefit alone does not make an advertising or measurement tool necessary.

Preference functions can remember choices such as display settings or a previously recorded privacy preference. Measurement functions can help a website operator understand traffic, identify errors, or assess how visitors use pages. Advertising functions can associate activity with an advertising campaign, measure a conversion, or help select advertising across services. These are explanations of categories, not confirmation that all of them are used by OffTheGrid LA.

Embedded videos, maps, or social content can have their own technical behavior if such features are present. A third-party feature may transmit a page request, device information, or identifiers when loaded. Review any feature-specific notice and the relevant provider's information before interacting with outside content. A provider may have independent privacy obligations for processing it controls.

5. Ticketing and payment websites

An event purchase may involve a separate ticketing or payment website identified in the booking flow. Before entering payment information, check the seller and the service handling the transaction. Those services may use technologies for checkout operation, security, fraud prevention, authentication, and other purposes described in their own notices.

Choices made on one domain do not necessarily control another domain. If you leave offthegrid-la.com to buy a ticket, review the privacy and cookie information on the destination website. A provider's notice does not replace OffTheGrid LA's responsibility for personal information that OffTheGrid LA receives or controls. A cookie preference also does not change the admission conditions, refund rights, or delivery arrangements attached to a purchase.

6. Managing browser storage and permissions

Most browsers provide settings for reviewing stored website data, deleting cookies, limiting third-party cookies, and changing permissions. Use your browser's help or privacy settings for instructions appropriate to your device and software version. Browser controls differ, so a setting available in one browser may work differently in another. Some controls apply only to a particular profile or device.

Blocking or removing storage can affect a requested function, end a session, or remove a saved preference. It may also remove the record of an earlier privacy choice. A browser setting that limits cookies does not necessarily block server logs, all embedded requests, or every similar technology. Private browsing is not a guarantee that a website or outside service receives no information about a visit.

If a page or service presents a privacy preference control, read the explanation of what it governs before making a choice. This notice does not represent that a sitewide cookie banner, preference center, or automatic script-blocking tool is installed. Do not assume a button on an unrelated website changes the operation of offthegrid-la.com.

7. Consent and privacy requests

Where applicable law requires permission before a particular use of technology, the required permission must be obtained for that use. Merely reading this notice, browsing the website, or purchasing admission is not blanket consent to unrelated advertising, all possible tracking, or every transfer of personal information. A privacy notice explains practices; it is not itself a technical consent mechanism.

Use a subject such as “Cookie question” or “Privacy request” and identify the relevant website page or transaction where helpful. We will consider the request under applicable law and explain any information reasonably needed to act on it. Sending an email does not instantly change your browser's storage or the behavior of an independent website.

If you previously gave consent for a particular activity, you may request withdrawal where applicable. Withdrawal does not ordinarily change the lawfulness of processing already performed on the basis of valid consent. Other records may still be handled where an independent lawful reason applies, such as administering an existing order or meeting a recordkeeping obligation. Consent withdrawal is separate from canceling an event ticket.

8. Browser signals and California privacy choices

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are different browser signals. Global Privacy Control can communicate a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information under applicable law. A signal does not, by itself, ask a business to erase every record or stop processing information needed for a purchase. Its required effect depends on the applicable legal framework and the processing involved.

OffTheGrid LA will comply with legally applicable opt-out and browser-signal obligations. This notice does not certify the site's technical recognition of a particular signal or state that information is or is not sold or shared. Advertising-related disclosures require consideration of what a service actually receives and does, including any use across different businesses or websites. A transfer need not involve a cash payment to raise a privacy question.

9. Email preferences and communications

Browser cookie choices and email subscription choices are separate. To stop OffTheGrid LA promotional emails, use the unsubscribe option in the message or email contact@offthegrid-la.com with the address you want removed. You do not need to submit complete identity documents or payment details to make an ordinary unsubscribe request.

Necessary communications about an existing ticket purchase, an event change, a refund, or a support request may still be sent for that purpose. Deleting browser data does not delete a mailing-list entry, and unsubscribing from email does not automatically remove cookies stored on a device. Questions about any measurement associated with a particular message can be sent to the same contact address; this notice does not confirm that email tracking is enabled.

10. Duration, retention, and overseas visitors

A technology's browser lifetime and the retention of information already received by a business are different matters. A session record may disappear from a browser while a separate purchase or security record remains. Removing a cookie does not automatically delete information already sent to a server. Our Privacy Policy explains the general retention approach for information we handle, and you can contact us about a specific record or request.

Overseas visitors may purchase tickets for events in Los Angeles. Your location and the activity involved may affect which privacy rules apply. Visiting from another country neither grants blanket permission for tracking nor automatically makes every foreign legal requirement applicable. We will address legally applicable rights and obligations based on the relevant circumstances. Any international processing of personal information is also subject to the information and protections described in our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

11. Changes and contact details

We may revise this notice as the website, purchase arrangements, or privacy requirements change. The effective date will identify the current version. We will provide any additional notice or obtain any permission required for a material change. A later revision does not retroactively authorize an undisclosed use of information.
